Coming up with quality red gum timber products that you will be proud to have as a show piece in your home takes time and patience.
Once cut into slabs the red gum timber is dried out in the air to lower its moisture content to around 14%, ensuring they will not shrink or split.
To keep the slabs nice and straight while drying they need to be stacked on flat ground with timber spacers evenly placed along the full length to ensure it dries straight.
Once stacked they need to be tied down tightly and then covered from the elements and left in peace to dry naturally.
Our red gum timber slabs have been air dried for 12 yrs & are ideal for timber slab furniture, timber table tops, wine bars or even board tables.
